As part of Atlanta Celebrates Photography, Brenau University is hosting an opening reception, artist talk and book signing for The Mutable Sea, an exhibit of 30 large seascape prints by photographer Lee Anne White. The event will take place on Thursday, September 10, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at the University's North Atlanta Campus in Norcross, with an informal artist's talk at 6:15 p.m. Afterward, Lee Anne will sign copies of her book, The Mutable Sea: Reflections on Change. The exhibit and reception are open to the public.
The photographs, which capture the simultaneous ebb and flow of the tide against the shoreline, were photographed over several years on Amelia Island—the northernmost of the southern Sea Islands along Florida's Atlantic Coast.
Photographed after sunset, they reflect the ever-changing nature of the sea and the broad range of colors reflected in the water.
According to Brenau Galleries director, Melissa Morgan, "Lee Anne has captured nature in its splendid beauty. These photographs will make you yearn for the sea, as you can almost smell the salt air and feel the sand beneath your feet."
The Norcross Campus is located at 3139 Campus Drive, Norcross GA 30071. For further information, call (770) 534-6263.
